During the last few years, several cloud storage companies and services have been launched offering a variety of plans. Here we are going to list only the providers that offer free cloud storage.
Dropbox
Dropbox is one of the best file storage and synchronization providers. It offers 2GB of free space and you can get even more if you refer your friends or complete a few easy tasks like taking the dropbox tour. It works with Windows, Mac, Linux, iPad, iPhone, Android and BlackBerry.
Box.net
Box.net offers 5GB of free space for your files. However the maximum filesize for free accounts is 25MB. It works has mobile apps that work with iPhone, iPad, Android, and WebOS devices.
Windows Live Skydrive
Window Live Skydrive is offering a whooping 25GB for free that you can use to backup and share your files
Memopal
Memopal offer 3GB for free and you can get more free space by referring your friends. It works on all common platforms, although the Linux version is still in beta.
iDrive
IDrive's basic plan comes with 5GB of free cloud storage. It also offers a free wordpress plugin that will backup your files plus your database into your IDrive online backup account. Works with most popular platforms.
Amazon CloudDrive
Amazon Cloud Drive is offering 5GB of free space to all Amazon customers (even if you have never bought a product). This service was designed with photos, music and documents in mind but you can also use it to store other type of files as well.
ADrive
ADrive is offering 50GB of free space. Yes, that is no typo 50GB for free. This service uses a Java uploader (for the free accounts) and there are no sync features which makes the service good mostly for archiving files.
OpenDrive
OpenDrive is offering 5GB for free. The max file size for the free service is 100MB and you can't use more than 1GB of bandwidth per day.
SugarSync
Free SugarSync accounts get 5 GB of free space that you can use to store your files. Feature include online backup and auto sync of files across multiple devices. Free mobile apps are available for iPhone, iPad, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, and Symbian devices.
Zumodrive
Zumodrive's free plan includes 2GB of free cloud storage. It supports Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone, Android, and Palm Pre. Very nice service with great features.
Ubuntu One
Ubuntu One is offering 5 GB for free. You can use the free space to backup your files online and sync files, contacts, notes and bookmarks across multiple devices.
TeamDrive
Teamdrive is one of the many providers that offer a free cloud storage plan with 2GB of free space. It is compatible with Windows, Mac Os and Linux and it also offers a portable version of the softwre that can be installed on USB drives.
Spideroak
Spideroak is also offering 2 free Gigabytes of space. It works on all the common computer platforms.
Syncplicity
Syncplicity's Personal Edition plan is free and comes with 2GB of free space. Real time backup and synchronization across devices are some of the noteworthy features.
Safecopy
SafeCopy is offering 3GB for free. Some of the features include online backup, restore, searching and sharing.
